Reggie Jackson Rumors: Thunder Unsure About Trade?

Reggie Jackson

When the Oklahoma City Thunder acquired Dion Waiters in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers, many believed that was the beginning of the end for Reggie Jackson in OKC. And they might be right as it’s been no secret that Jackson is potentially available, though might the Thunder be having second thoughts regarding a trade?

Moving a young player is never easy, especially one with talent like Reggie Jackson and it appears there is a bit of uncertainty from the Thunder’s front office surrounding a potential trade of the point guard.

Reggie Jackson seems to be the player to watch between now and Feb. 19. The vibe that rival executives get from the Thunder is that they’re on the fence about moving Jackson before the deadline.

The biggest issue here is the financial impact of Reggie Jackson’s eventual new contract. His deal would not only push Oklahoma City into the luxury tax but could become a problem when the Thunder attempt to re-sign both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.

Given that, it’s understandable as to why they may have to trade Reggie Jackson, though it’s also understandable as to why they’re not really excited about doing so either.

For now it appears to be a toss up regarding the Reggie Jackson rumors.
