It appears as if karma has taken a large bite out of Paul Pierce as just days after the Washington Wizards star suggested the Atlanta Hawks season was over thanks to his clutch shot, it’s actually the Wiz who are now going home.
While Pierce was an absolute force, his trash talk might have got the best of him as he yet again hit an impossible, clutch shot but this time it was after the final horn sounded.
Pierce was overly confident that his buzzer beating shot tied the game, but the Atlanta Hawks seemingly knew their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Playoffs was punched.
Regardless, an official review was needed before referees called off Paul Pierce’s game-tying three-point shot, ending the Washington Wizards season.
Trash talk or not, you have to give Paul Pierce credit. When many assumed he was essentially left out to pasture, he completely obliterated the Toronto Raptors by himself in the first round and had the Wizards on the brink of the ECF.
Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, but he certainly gave it all he had and the clutch shots were something to see.
But magic eventually runs out for even the most talented of players.
