Orlando Magic Fire Head Coach Jacque Vaughn

There have been rumblings for weeks suggesting Orlando Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn‘s job was on the line. Those rumors proved to be true as according to Yahoo Sports, the Orlando Magic fired Vaughn on Thursday morning.

It’s yet another odd firing in a season which has seen fellow coaches, like Michael Malone (formerly of the Sacramento Kings) get canned when there really wasn’t much reason to do so.

Sure, there may have been some issues in regards to Jacque Vaughn getting through to some of the younger players on the Orlando Magic roster, but that’s to be expected when you field one of the youngest teams in the NBA.

At 15-27, the Magic obviously need some work though before their current 10-game losing streak which did Vaughn in, a 15-17 record is pretty damn respectable considering the roster tasked to the former Orlando Magic head coach.

What the move means for some of the young talent like Elfrid Payton, Tobias Harris, Aaron Gordon, and Kyle O’Quinn is unknown, though hopefully they get a bit more standard rotation time given Jacque Vaugh’s sometimes odd rotations.

Scott Skiles has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Vaughn.
