The New York Knicks, among a few other basketball organizations with available spending money, are looking to sign Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol in free agency this coming summer.
Competition will be tough, but many believe it’s the Knicks who hold an upper-hand in the pursuit of the All-Star big man. Current Memphis Grizzlies teammate and former Knicks point guard Beno Udrih disagrees however, recently suggesting there’s no way Marc Gasol signs with the New York Knicks.
So what was his reasoning? Well, it didn’t appear to be anything concrete, just rather salty from his time in the Big Apple.

It doesn’t appear as if Beno Udrih has any inside information on Marc Gasol’s free agent plans, so this looks to be more of his opinion more than anything else. Of course, he does share a locker room with Marc Gasol, so his suggestion shouldn’t be completely swept under the rug.
Would be interesting to hear what he thinks Gasol will do in NBA free agency, as opposed to just divulging the Knicks as it might give a bit of an idea if Udrih was just being salty or really believes New York is out of the picture.
Either way, it’s not the end of the world for the Knicks could likely have their eyes on other talent like Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge.
