Nets, Wolves Complete Kevin Garnett Trade For Thaddeus Young

Kevin Garnett

There haven’t been too many big moves (thus far) leading up to the NBA trade deadline and I’m not sure this really qualifies, though it might in name stature alone.

That’s because Kevin Garnett will be returning to his former stomping grounds as the Brooklyn Nets have traded the NBA icon back to the Minnesota Timberwolves where Kevin Garnett began his career.

David Aldridge of NBA.com was first to report the Kevin Garnett trade which will send Thaddeus Young to the Brooklyn Nets

It’s a pretty good move for both teams as the Nets need talent (which they’ll get in Young) and the Wolves wanted to clear salary. The Kevin Garnett trade allows such and also brings back an NBA hero to the city he helped put on the basketball map.

Oddly enough, KG has previously stated that he wants to BUY the Minnesota Timberwolves so it looks like he’ll be able to hang up his sneakers as a member of the T’Wolves and potentially join the ownership group once that time comes.

Not so much a great basketball move for the Wolves as it is a PR/financial based decision.
