NBA Trade Rumors: Thunder, Nets Renew Brook Lopez Trade Talks

Brook Lopez

NBA rumors: The Oklahoma City Thunder and Brooklyn Nets have renewed Brook Lopez trade talks.

For weeks we’ve heard the back and forth regarding the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder working on a Brook Lopez trade.

Now just days before the NBA’s trade deadline is to pass, the two teams have rekindled talks according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports. Unfortunately it’s not known how in-depth the discussions are, though it appears clear the two sides are trying to work something out.

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Brooklyn Nets are said to be working on a deal that would send Nets center Brook Lopez to the Thunder. It is unclear how close the sides may be, or what the Nets would be able to get in return in such a trade. Initial reports suggest they may be seeking to land second-year Thunder center Steven Adams. Other young pieces such as guards Reggie Jackson and Jeremy Lamb, and forward Perry Jones, could be of interest to the Nets.

If this all sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The Nets and Thunder have previously discussed a Brook Lopez trade at least once and appeared to be making some significant progress until Brooklyn pulled out suggesting they weren’t getting enough in return. That’s because OKC was previously said to be offering Kendrick Perkins. Now with Steven Adams potentially in the mix, perhaps it will be enough for the Nets to bite?

We’ll see in the coming days if the price is right and if Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have a new offensive-minded big man to compliment them.
