It’s Monday morning or afternoon depending on where you’re located, so I’m guessing you could use a good laugh.
Thankfully we have such courtesy of ESPN who in speaking about the big changes ahead for the Los Angeles Clippers, suggested that Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook could eventually have a new teammate.
Who exactly though? If you guessed Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers, you’re a winner.
Sitting at the bottom of the post, there was a suggestion that OKC could eventually get worried Durant would leave in free agency and in turn look at the Clippers in a hopeful sign-and-trade deal which would send Blake Griffin to the Thunder.
The thinking goes something like this: If OKC is genuinely worried Durant will leave in 2016, they have to look to get something in return for him this year. Blake Griffin is from Oklahoma City. The Clippers keep topping out in the second round and might be willing to shake things up.
The Worldwide Leader goes on to suggest that neither team has seriously discussed it, which would make one almost believe that it was hinted in passing, though that too seems rather unrealistic.
Either way, Kevin Durant will not be traded for Blake Griffin.
