NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics, Nuggets Talk Ty Lawson Deal

Ty Lawson

NBA Trade Rumors: The Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets have discussed a Ty Lawson trade.

While the Denver Nuggets haven’t exactly been shy regarding their potential fire sale, one player they’ve routinely suggested to be off limits is point guard Ty Lawson. But after his most recent run-in with the law, perhaps that sentiment has changed as according to Grantland the Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets have held trade talks regarding Ty Lawson.

In addition, Kenneth Faried could also be on his way out of the Mile High City along with Lawson, though likely in a separate trade.

The sense around the league is that you could land Lawson or Faried with a Godfather offer. They are gettable. Boston and Denver have had exploratory talks about Lawson, per several sources.

Considering Ty Lawson is the Denver Nuggets best and brightest asset, they’re likely going to command quite a bit in return if they are to trade him. Of course, the Boston Celtics have a mass amount of youth and raft picks that could intrigue the Nuggets, so the two do match up as solid potential trade partners.

Of course, with Marcus Smart on the roster you wonder why Ty Lawson would be all that interesting to the Celtics, but perhaps Danny Ainge and company believe Smart could play the two-guard while Lawson handles the point guard duties.
