We’re less than a month away from the NBA’s All-Star Weekend which means it’s time for the league to announce the Slam Dunk Contest contestants.
Every year fans hope for big names like LeBron James or Russell Westbrook, but yet again are left disappointed as it’s the younger players the NBA focuses on. Perhaps they’re the only players willing to participate as well considering it will be Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo and Mason Plumlee who take the court for the competition.

Of course, being only three players have been named that still leaves room for another player. While nobody knows who exactly that will be currently, one rumored name who continues to surface is Zach LaVine of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
LaVine has some of the best athletic ability in the league and not only is he an impressive dunker, he’s shown an ability to perform them in-game as well which will only help him if he is to enter the dunk contest.
Players like Victor Oladipo should put on one hell of a show, though he and the rest of the contestants just don’t bring the same type of buzz big name All-Stars would if they participated.
