NBA Rumors: Warriors Want To Sign Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant

When it comes to Kevin Durant and free agency, much of the noise regarding the former NBA MVP has been about either remaining with his current basketball team – the Oklahoma City Thunder – or signing with his hometown team, the Washington Wizards.

However, there have been continued whispers for months suggesting the Golden State Warriors will be a player assuming Kevin Durant is to become a free agent. That noise was only echoed louder today after former NBA player Mychal Thompson, father of Warriors guard Klay Thompson, suggested the Warriors will indeed chase after Kevin Durant in NBA free agency.

Such won’t be easy from a contractual standpoint, but it is possible technically.

Granted, I’m not sure there would be enough basketballs to go around for Durant, Thompson and Stephen Curry – but it would be one heck of a show.

I also heard it on good authority from a team that plays in the Bay Area that they’re going to go hard after Kevin Durant.

Durant really doesn’t have any ties to the Bay Area, so it’s hard to see him picking the Golden State Warriors over the Oklahoma City Thunder, when he’s already suggested he wants to retire with his current basketball organization. That’s not including the draw of playing for the Wizards, though, it’s something to keep an eye on regardless.
