The marriage between David Lee and the Golden State Warriors hasn’t exactly been peachy. To his credit, the power forward has played the ‘team player’ role very well and did exactly what Steve Kerr and the Warriors coaching staff asked of him.
Of course, that wasn’t much, which is why David Lee has all but previously requested a trade. The Warriors likely would have been more than happy to fulfill such a request, though his contract wasn’t exactly salary cap friendly to a new team.
Regardless, just a day (not even) after winning the NBA Championship, the Golden State Warriors have agreed to do what they can to trade David Lee.

It’s likely the Warriors front office has been attempting to do so for quite some time, but it appears as if both the basketball franchise and David Lee may be either preparing for some type of potential buyout scenario or a trade where the Warriors might have to swallow a contract they’re not thrilled about, just to get David Lee off the roster.
Either way, it appears David Lee has played his final game for the Golden State Warriors.
