NBA Rumors: Timberwolves Looking To Trade Thaddeus Young

Minnesota Timberwolves

While the idea of trading Andrew Wiggins is a bit loony, the Minnesota Timberwolves do have a collection of talent they’ll likely be willing to move in the coming weeks. That’s the word from ESPN’s Marc Stein who says it’s very possible names like Kevin Martin and Thaddeus Young could be changing zip codes before the NBA’s upcoming February trade deadline.

Thaddeus Young, Mo Williams, Kevin Martin … surely Minnesota will look to move any and all of them before the Feb. 19 trade deadline. Right? Something for Flip Saunders to ponder deeply when he’s looking for things to focus on besides what this season is doing to his career W/L record

The Timberwolves look to have a rather bright future, though at 7-36 they’re clearly one of the worst teams in the NBA and have zero reason to retain any of their veteran talent. Of course, trading some of them won’t be easy thanks to their less than desirable contracts though just getting their money off the books would be considered a solid move for the Wolves.

Players like Young, Williams and Martin will be in demand considering they all have an ability to come off the bench and contribute for a contending team, however none will likely bring much back in terms of assets.
