NBA Rumors: Thunder, Kings Talk Reggie Jackson Trade

Reggie Jackson

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Sacramento Kings have discussed a Reggie Jackson trade.

It’s widely expected by many that Oklahoma City Thunder star Reggie Jackson will have a new zip code once the NBA’s trade deadline passes, though where exactly remains a mystery.

One team who is apparently interested in Jackson are the Sacramento Kings as they and the Oklahoma City Thunder have had exploratory trade talks in recent days, this according to Sporting News.

Sources said the Kings also expressed interest in the Pistons’ Jonas Jerebko and Thunder guard Reggie Jackson, though those talks were only preliminary.

While Reggie Jackson is a very talented player and compliments both Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook well, his contractual situation may make it difficult for the Thunder to get much value in return.

If the Thunder were to trade Reggie Jackson to the Sacramento Kings, you’d have to assume a player like Carl Landry or Jason Thompson would be going back to OKC along with a possible young asset like Nik Stuaskas while OKC would pawn off a bad contract like Kendrick Perkins.

On paper, the two teams don’t really match up, so it’s difficult to see if the needed parts are available on both sides to get a trade done, though it’s certainly an interesting scenario.
