NBA Rumors: Pistons Interested In Trade For Knicks’ Pablo Prigioni

Pablo Prigioni

The New York Knicks are doing everything they can to clear dead weight on the roster. That includes attempting to trade point guard Pablo Prigioni, who has fallen out of the rotation.

Interest in the veteran hasn’t exactly been overwhelming, though Marc Stein of ESPN reports the Detroit Pistons have been eying the guard.

While it’s currently not known how long Brandon Jennings will be out of action, it’s presumed he suffered a torn achillies and will miss the remainder of the season. That might not have been a tough blow when the Pistons were struggling early in the season, but thanks to their new found winning ways Detroit is going to need a talented point guard to take over Jennings’ spot.

Is that Pablo Prigioni? Probably not, though the veteran does pass well and could be a solid bench addition if nothing else. Add in his relatively cheap price tag (the Knicks are said to want a second round draft pick) and it’s understandable as to why the Pistons have interest in Prigioni.

By no stretch is it a blockbuster move though it’s one which could help Andre Drummond‘s Pistons tread water until a better solution comes along, assuming one is even out there.
