The Nets and Wolves have discussed a Kevin Garnett trade just hours before the NBA trade deadline.
Could Kevin Garnett be playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves once again? It sounds a little far fetched, but it’s actually a possibility according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.
That’s because the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves have spoken about a Kevin Garnett trade which would send Thaddeus Young the other way.
For weeks we’ve heard about the Brooklyn Nets’ interest in Young, so the deal makes sense in that regard, though you’d have to think the Wolves would like to get more in return than just Kevin Garnett.
Perhaps they’ll be able to, but according to Stein, the potential Kevin Garnett trade looks rather serious.
ESPN sources say Wolves and Nets have discussed deal to send Thad Young to Brooklyn in exchange for KG … who of course has no-trade clause

Kevin Garnett of course stared with the Minnesota Timberwolves before his eventual trade to the Boston Celtics, which then lead to a trade to the Nets, so it would be a homecoming for the NBA relic.
Such a trade would also allow the T’Wolves to get out of Thaddeus Young’s contract which will pay the forward nearly $10 million dollars next season before he enters free agency.
It’s an interesting potential trade though one that’s difficult to judge until we know all the pieces involved, though there seem to be many Wolves fans that are less than thrilled with the report.
