Just a few days after losing his fourth NBA Finals, LeBron James is expected to opt out of his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But don’t worry, Cavs fans, as James isn’t expected to depart in free agency just a season after re-signing with his hometown Cavaliers.
James, who signed a two-year contract with the opt-out after the first season is simply looking for more money and it’s very possible he’ll do the same thing after the upcoming season as it seems LeBron James enjoys playing on one year deals which allow him to get the most money possible.
Cavs GM David Griffin confirmed the news recently, suggesting that he believes not only LeBron James will opt out of his Cavs contract but Kevin Love will do the same. Unlike James, Griffin didn’t seem overly sure of what future plans Kevin Love has though did quietly suggest he believes he will re-sign with the Cavaliers as well.

Love along with LaMarcus Aldridge are the two biggest names in NBA free agency who are likely to change teams, so there is likely some fear within the organization that Love could depart for a team like the Boston Celtics or LA Lakers. For now, they wait.
