NBA Rumors: Lakers Want To Trade Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin

When the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Jeremy Lin from the Houston Rockets this past offseason, the point guard couldn’t have been happier as he was returning to California where he grew up. The Lakers meanwhile thought they may have added an All-Star level point guard, but it’s been nothing but a rocky road since that time.

Things have gotten so bad, in fact, the Lakers want to trade Jeremy Lin but are struggling to find any team willing to acquire the veteran.

Per Sporting News:

He still would make a good backup point guard, and the Lakers would move him if they could get an asset in return, but the market for Lin has been weak.

Jeremy Lin is only signed for this season and isn’t absurdly expensive ($8 million) considering half of the year is over so it’s doubtful that there isn’t an NBA team willing to trade for him, but understandably nobody wants to give up assets for the point guard considering how poorly he’s played.

Also, the Los Angeles Lakers may want an asset in return, but they don’t want somebody who will clog their salary cap either which makes a Jeremy Lin trade rather difficult considering he’s off the books at season end.
