NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Trade Veteran Talent Before Deadline

Currently one of the NBA’s worst teams, the Los Angeles Lakers have enough reason to tank so they can be in position to obtain a high draft pick. But it’s even more important for the Lakers, who will lose their first-round pick to the Phoenix Suns if they don’t get a top-five lottery selection.

Needless to say, while the Los Angeles front office won’t admit to it, they’re probably privately hoping for losses on a nightly basis.

Given that, there are expectations suggesting LA will likely attempt to trade some veteran talent before the NBA’s upcoming deadline which includes names like Jordan Hill, Steve Nash, Ed Davis and more.

This season has been a disaster, and now it just got even worse with Kobe Bryant out for the season due to a torn rotator cuff. Trading away veterans like Jordan Hill and Ed Davis among others could be beneficial for a number of reasons.

There’s really little (more like zero) reason for the Lakers not to make a handful of trades as they need to finish the season as one of the worst teams in the league to keep their draft pick. It would be an absolute mess if Los Angeles ended up having a poor season and lost their lotto pick.
