NBA Rumors: Lakers Are Free Agent Destination Says Byron Scott

Lakers Court

Yesterday NBA rumors began to swirl suggesting both Russell Westbrook and Kevin Love could be thinking about teaming up with the Los Angeles Lakers assuming they both become free agents.

But they might not be the only basketball players thinking such, at least not according to Byron Scott who says opposing talent has come up to him during games and informed him that they’d like to sign with the Lakers when they’re a free agent.

Sound a little too hard to believe? Maybe, but Scott seems to be sticking to his guns in regards to free agents who want to play for the Lakers.

“You have a lot of free agents out there who would love to play for us. They’ve been making it pretty clear,” Scott said. “You have guys during the games come by the bench saying, ‘Hey Coach, I would love to be in L.A. next year.’ That makes you feel good there are players out there that want to be here. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that we’re taking it in a different direction. They know this organization and the history of the organization is going to be back.”

Who exactly Byron Scott is talking about is unknown. Could it be some big name talent like LaMarcus Aldridge or Marc Gasol? That seems very doubtful, but I guess we’ll see if he was right during the next offseason or two.
