NBA Rumors: Knicks Interested In DeMarcus Cousins Trade

New York Knicks

Welcome to the party, New York Knicks. As you can see, you’re joined by every other team in the NBA who is seeking a DeMarcus Cousins trade, though, it appears none of you will actually be able to pull it off.

That’s because the Sacramento Kings say they’re not interested in trading DeMarcus Cousins (in fairness, it’s not as if they’d come out and announce a desire to, either).

Still, despite their alleged reluctance to make a move, the New York Knicks want to trade for DeMarcus Cousins. Granted, team president Phil Jackson understand they probably don’t have the assets, but there isn’t any harm in trying either.

“We’re listening. We’re not soliciting so much. But we’re listening,” he said. “That possibility might happen.”

“I wouldn’t want to talk about that. I don’t think it’s fair to disclose that,” Jackson said. “Sacramento’s gone through changes. They changed their front office personnel. We’re aware of the situation. We understand the possibilities. We’re just going to see what falls out.

“We don’t know if we have enough stuff to even be in the talk, but we’re aware of what’s going on.”

At minimum the Knicks would be forced to part with the No. 4 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft and it’s extremely doubtful any deal would get done beforehand, so while the Knicks may want a DeMarcus Cousins trade, it’s just a pipe dream at this point.
