There isn’t a team in the NBA who doesn’t want to get involved in a DeMarcus Cousins trade if the Sacramento Kings put him on the block. But Vivek Ranadive and company apparently have no interest in doing so, at least not yet.
Rumors have swirled that Cousins is less than happy in the California capital and while he hasn’t requested a trade, you have to wonder how much longer he’ll be willing to play on a struggling franchise.
Regardless, the Sacramento Kings don’t have any intention to trade DeMarcus Cousins at this point, though another rough season and that could change things according to Basketball Insiders.
From what I have been told the Kings want to give the Cousins/Karl situation a full season before they make drastic changes.
The Kings didn’t hire one of the best coaches of all-time just to trade away their franchise centerpiece, so you’d have to assume they’ll let this train ride a while before they decide to blow apart their roster.
Of course, there have been rumors leaking suggesting the Lakers and Celtics were attempting to trade for DeMarcus Cousins, so at this point its difficult to know what exactly is going on behind the scenes.
