The Houston Rockets could use a point guard, especially one who’s more centered around ball movement than scoring.

Few NBA point guards fit that mold more than Ricky Rubio, who has been rumored to be on the trade block for a few months now. But would the Minnesota Timberwolves actually move Ricky Rubio?

Such remains to be seen, but NBA rumors suggest they’re open to a deal if the price is right and the Houston Rockets might have the needed pieces.

Per ChinaToPix:

Speculations abound that after the Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Duke champion point guard Tyus Jones in the recently concluded NBA Draft, the team is going to deal its starting playmaker Ricky Rubio to the Houston Rockets.

Keep in mind, we’re not dealing with Yahoo Sports or something here, so take the Ricky Rubio rumor with a grain of salt. Actually, take it with a mountain of salt.

Still, it’s not as if these are the first Ricky Rubio trade rumors we’ve heard this offseason. And the point guard would most certainly be a solid fit alongside James Harden and Dwight Howard.

All that said, if such a deal was to be made, the Houston Rockets would likely have to give up some pretty solid assets in a Ricky Rubio trade because the Wolves most certainly aren’t going to give away their young star.
