NBA Rumors: DeAndre Jordan Interested In Dallas Mavericks

DeAndre Jordan

More likely than not, the Los Angeles Clippers won’t allow DeAndre Jordan to leave the City of Angels this offseason when he becomes a free agent. But with hefty contracts already being given out to Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, financially they’ll be a little strapped.

That’s why teams like the Dallas Mavericks are showing interest in DeAndre Jordan, who is said to be open to signing with the Mavs this offseason.

While talented offensively, Dallas could use some defensive help in the paint alongside Dirk Nowitzki and few players bring that more than Jordan who’s a force inside.

Another potential prize summer target for the Mavs: Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, who multiple sources say has made it clear through back channels that he will be extremely interested in coming to Dallas. Signing the 26-year-old Jordan, a dominant physical force who led the league in rebounding and field-goal percentage this season, would mean letting the 32-year-old Chandler leave again after another one-season stint with the Mavs.

Tyson Chandler, the current Mavs big man, has expressed interest in returning as well though he’d have to do so at an extreme discount if the Mavericks were able to steal DeAndre Jordan away from the Clippers.
