NBA Rumors: Clippers Talking Lance Stephenson Trade

Lance Stephenson

Remember when Lance Stephenson was a force on the Indiana Pacers and was whispering in the ear of LeBron James in the Eastern Conference Finals? They seem like years ago, yet oddly, it was just a season ago when Stephenson was one of the more in-demand free agents.

His asking price was way too high however and the combo talent ended up signing with the Charlotte Hornets.

That relationship has soured and now it appears there could be a trade in the works, this according to Yahoo Sports who reports the LA Clippers are interested in acquiring Lance Stephenson.

Yes, those LA Clippers.

In exchange, the Clippers would send Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes to the Hornets.

In a high-risk, high-reward move, the Los Angeles Clippers are discussing a deal with the Charlotte Hornets to acquire guard Lance Stephenson, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Clippers would send forwards Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes to the Hornets, sources said. Talks have been ongoing for several days, but the proposed deal is yet to be considered imminent.

It’s an obvious and understandable move for the Hornets as they get away from Lance Stephenson, but will it work for the Clippers?

They certainly get the most talented player in the said trade, assuming it was to go through and his addition alongside Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and company would make the Clippers an even stronger force in the West if he plays up to his talent level.
