NBA Playoffs: Clippers Turn Lakers Locker Room Into Lounge

Clippers

Remember when it was all about the Los Angeles Lakers when it came to basketball in Southern California? How times have changed.

Not that long ago the Clippers would have given just about anything to be mentioned in the same breath as their So Cal counterpart, but now it’s Steve Ballmer’s team who has taken the spotlight away from the Lakers.

They’ve also taken away their locker room as according to TMZ, the Clippers have turned the Lakers locker room into an owners lounge for the NBA playoffs.

No worries, Lakers fans, as the team gave the Clippers permission to do so.

There were rumblings that the Clips were trying to diss Laker Nation by using their space at Staples Center as Steve Ballmer‘s personal hangout area … since the Clips are still playing and the Lakers didn’t even come close to the playoffs.

But it just ain’t the case — at least according to Staples Center honcho Lee Zeidman who tells us there was an arrangement made before the 1st playoff game.

I don’t know why the Clippers owners really need a ‘lounge’ for the NBA playoffs, let alone the need to use a locker room as they can use ANY part of the Staples Center they wish essentially.

Many have suggested the Lakers should have told the Clippers to kick rocks, but, at least they’re being hospitable.

Wonder what Kobe Bryant thinks of this?
