NBA Execs: Kevin Durant To Stay With Thunder

Kevin Durant

Many of the brightest and most important minds in the NBA are currently spending their week in Las Vegas, taking part in the Summer League.

In addition to scouting and watching potential young budding stars, NBA front office executives were informally polled on what they believe will happen to some of the biggest stars come NBA free agency in 2016.

That includes Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant, who many NBA executives believe will re-sign with the OKC Thunder when its all said and done.

Most league execs informally polled here at Summer League expect Durant to stay in Oklahoma City when he hits the market next summer. There are only a handful of teams that can legitimately think they’re an option. The Lakers, the Mavs and the Wizards (in Durant’s hometown) are in the mix, for starters. The Knicks? I mean, I guess, in theory.

It should be noted that even after re-signing Enes Kanter, the Thunder have enough money to bring back Kevin Durant and still will not be over the luxury tax limit under the new alleged salary cap figures.

The Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards have been the two teams most linked to Kevin Durant, at least in recent weeks, but it sounds like it’s still the Oklahoma City Thunder in the lead for his services once his contract expires.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
