NBA Draft Rumors: Lakers Could Trade For No 1 Pick

Lakers Court

As we speak, the Los Angeles Lakers own the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

At some point in the next few weeks, they could own the No. 1 pick – or at least – make a trade for the player who is drafted first overall.

That’s the thought of ESPN’s Chad Ford who reports there is a growing possibility that the Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves, owners of the number one pick, could make a trade allowing LA to get their hands on the top selection.

Either via draft or via trade, the Lakers would then be able to get Karl-Anthony Towns who has previously stated he’d love to play alongside Kobe Bryant.

Lots of homework going on. I think the Wolves will eventually decide to take him 1, or perhaps swap with the Lakers and try to pick up another asset.

The fact Ford seems to suggest this so nonchalantly seems to indicate that the Lakers and Wolves have already been having discussions about a trade involving the No. 1 pick or he’s just throwing something in the wind.

Either way, it’s no secret the Lakers want to draft Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves haven’t exactly shown their cards yet, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.
