Mo Williams rumors: The Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to make a trade.
It appears as if Mo Williams‘ short stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves is coming to an end as the guard is expected to be moved in the very near future.
In fact, it could happen as soon as today as according to Yahoo Sports, the Wolves are expected to trade Mo Williams to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Gary Neal and a draft pick.

Considering Mo Williams rumors suggested there were multiple teams interest in acquiring the veteran, it is a little odd the best the Wolves could do was to pick up Neal and a draft pick, though it’s not as if other interested team (Los Angeles Clippers, etc) were overflowing with assets.
Simply put, given the Hornets’ struggles, their draft pick will have much more value than selections from teams who will have low first-round or low second-round picks.
As for the Hornets, Mo Williams is a solid addition to their bench and could be enough to help them remain in the playoff picture as we enter the final few months of the NBA’s regular season. The price was relatively cheap and Mo Williams doesn’t bring any type of future financial burden to the organization either.
Overall, it seems to be a solid trade for both the Hornets and Timberwolves.
Update: The pick is a second-round selection, making it so whomever the Wolves select will not have a guaranteed contract.
