Amare Stoudemire is expected to sign with the Mavs once he clears waivers.
Before Amar’e Stoudemire agreed to a buyout with the New York Knicks, there was talk suggesting the power forward would likely sign with the Dallas Mavericks once he cleared waivers.
Other teams like the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns and San Antonio Spurs were/are said to have varying degrees of interest in the former NBA All-Star, but the Mavs have appeared to be the favorites from the start.
Nothing has changed in that regard either as according to Mavs rumors, Amare Stoudemire is leaning towards signing with the Dallas Mavericks in the coming days.

While Amare Stoudemire is no longer the player he once was, he can still be effective in short stints off the bench. That’s what the Mavs will need out of STAT, so it appears to be a solid match for both parties.
It’s possible Amar’e could get more run elsewhere, but nobody knows how long he’ll hold up from a physical standpoint and it appears as if he’s content coming in and being a role player (at least for now).
Amare will obviously not be claimed on waivers, so it appears to be Dallas or bust right now.
