Los Angeles Lakers Unlikely To Keep Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer

Jeremy Lin

While Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer weren’t major impact additions during the offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers felt pairing them with Kobe Bryant and Julius Randle would at least build a formidable starting five.

That hasn’t worked out obviously as Bryant is routinely injured, Randle is out for the season and both Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer lost their starting jobs just a few weeks into the campaign. It’s all resulted in yet another sub par year for the Lakers who are unlikely to re-sign either Lin or Boozer come season end.

Lin and Boozer were the Lakers’ main off-season acquisitions. Will they be back next season? Only if the Los Angeles Lakers completely strike out in free agency. And even then … probably not.

Both players look like fringe rotation players on a good team at this point of their careers so it’s understandable as to why the Lakers would prefer to move on considering they’ll attempt to spend their available salary cap space on big name targets.

That said it’s likely both Lin and Boozer will be staying in Hollywood until season end considering neither is exactly a hot trade commodity. But their careers as a Laker may be nothing more than a one and done season.
