It’s been a rough few days for Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young. Not only is he sleeping on the couch after rumors of cheating on rapper girlfriend Iggy Azalea surfaced, but the offensively minded former USC Trojan could be benched if he doesn’t improve his mental game.
That’s the word from Lakers head coach Byron Scott who says he’s unhappy with how Nick Young has been handling himself recently and threatened the idea of benching the eccentric Young if he doesn’t knock it off.
“I know he’s a shooter. But as coach talked to him about, there are other things he must do to continue to be on the floor,” Scott said. “I’m not saying that to be speaking to myself.”
The Lakers coach wasn’t done.
“That will be the second time I will tell him,” Scott said. “There won’t be a third.”
If you hear a blasting sound coming out of Hollywood, those are the shots fired by Scott to Nick Young.
For what it’s worth, Kobe Bryant‘s sidekick admits he does need to control himself better but says he’s an emotional player and sometimes that can get the best of him. It’s understandable, though it’ll be getting the best of him on the bench if he doesn’t control himself.
