Quick – who’s the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers? By name, it’s David Blatt. But pretty much everybody knows it’s LeBron James, who doesn’t only run the on-court product, but the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise as a whole.
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that when you’re a player of LeBron James’ stature – it’s almost expected. But disrespecting your coach? It apparently happened during the NBA Finals as LeBron James was unhappy with David Blatt on multiple occasions, this according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
“There was LeBron, in one instance I witnessed from right behind the bench, shaking his head vociferously in protest after one play Blatt drew up in the third quarter of Game 5, amounting to the loudest nonverbal scolding you could imagine,” Stein wrote. “Which forced Blatt, in front of his whole team, to wipe the board clean and draw up something else.”
This of course isn’t the first time we’ve heard about LeBron James not being a fan of Blatt’s coaching and you have to wonder how much longer the veteran coach will be with the Cavs, if LeBron James truly does feel this way.
