Will Lakers Trade For DeMarcus Cousins?

DeMarcus Cousins

For weeks we’ve heard rumors suggesting the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in a trade for Sacramento Kings All-Star DeMarcus Cousins.

Up until that point, they’ve been just that – rumors – but according to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Lakers are actively attempting to acquire DeMarcus Cousins in a trade.

The only problem? The Kings have been reluctant to part with their franchise big man.

The Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as one of the most determined trade suitors for Sacramento Kings All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins, according to league sources.

Sources told ESPN that the Lakers have been actively pursuing trade scenarios in recent weeks in attempt to construct a deal that would convince the Kings to part with Cousins.

While pairing Kobe Bryant with DeMarcus Cousins would be one heck of a tandem for the Lakers, it appears rather unrealistic.

The Lakers do own the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and could try to sway the Kings by including such with Julius Randle in a deal, but there has been no indication that the Kings would accept such a deal.

More or less, this appears as the Lakers simply trying to acquire DeMarcus Cousins in a trade and the desire mostly being one-sided on the part of LA.
