Lakers Rumors: Steve Nash, Jordan Hill Trade Possible?

Steve Nash

The Los Angeles Lakers were dead in the water before Kobe Bryant went down with what is likely a season ending injury. Now they’re, well, less than that. But that doesn’t mean the front office will sit idly on their hands come the NBA’s Feburary trade deadline.

Many pundits expect the Lakers to be active in the next few weeks, including Jabari Davis of Basketball Insiders who wouldn’t be shocked if Los Angeles attempted to package Steve Nash‘s contract along with Jordan Hill in a trade.

I think the idea behind moving Hill is in order to “sell-high” and capitalize on what could be a favorable contract for another team…especially if packaged with Nash’s expiring deal.

While Steve Nash is nothing outside of contractual fodder, Jordan Hill has actually played well this season and could be a solid addition for a team in need of a big man for a playoff push.

Every season it seems as if teams looking to acquire talent at the trade deadline are either seeking a backup point guard or a power forward who can play defense/stretch the floor. Hill isn’t exactly a perfection rendition of such, but considering his price and favorable contract he’s likely to be in demand which is good news for the Lakers.
