Lakers Owner: Changes Coming Soon If Struggles Continue

If the Los Angeles Lakers continue to struggle, co-owner Jeanie Buss says changes are coming and they’re going to happen soon.

The daughter of former owner Dr. Jerry Buss, Jeanie handles the business operations of the Lakers while her brother Jim deals with the basketball side of things. The relationship between the two isn’t the best, especially in regardless to business dealings and it’s clear Jeanie has tired of the continued poor decisions, much of them on behalf of her brother.

“I’ve been assured by our basketball operations that the team will be back in contention soon. If we are not meeting those goals, then changes have to occur,” Buss said in a recent interview in her office at the Lakers’ practice facility in El Segundo. “I have no reason not to believe them when they tell me that’s what they can deliver. I don’t see what would be holding them back.”

What exactly these ‘changes’ will be are unknown and how quickly she deems things as ‘soon’ also hasn’t been made public, though it seems obvious she’s had enough.

Jeanie Buss also left a parting shot at her brother and general manager Mitch Kupchak, suggesting she believed Phil Jackson could have been assistance before he took a job with the New York Knicks, but stated neither Jim Buss nor Kupchak felt he was needed.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
