Lakers Meeting With LaMarcus Aldridge Went ‘Very Well’

While Snoop Dogg and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 spent their Tuesday night trying to recruit LaMarcus Aldridge on Twitter, members of the Los Angeles Lakers front office met with the Portland Trail Blazers big man in effort to recruit him on the idea of playing in Hollywood.

So how did the meeting go? Well, according to the Lakers, pretty darn good.

Ramona Shelburne reports the LaMarcus Aldridge meeting was so successful, in fact, the Lakers believe they have surpassed the Dallas Mavericks as one of Aldridge’s main desired teams.

The Lakers, sources added, firmly believe they will now be in the Aldridge hunt. And there is a rising sentiment, sources said, that the Lakers have edged past the Mavericks on Aldridge’s wish list even though he was a high school star in Dallas.

Aldridge is said to have met with the Houston Rockets immediately after the Lakers (a seemingly tough act to follow), and the rest of his meetings are set for reasonable hours Wednesday. The New York Knicks have the final meeting on Thursday, and the chances of Aldridge staying with the Portland Trail Blazers are “very unlikely,” according to ESPN.

Of course, the LA Lakers will still need to best the San Antonio Spurs, who many consider to be the front runner for Aldridge’s services.

Still, Kobe Bryant has to be feeling good about the Lakers push to sign a big name free agent.

Kevin Love is also expected to meet with the Lakers soon.
