Unless Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers come to terms on a contract extension during the season, the Black Mamba might not only be playing his final games for the only NBA team he’s ever known, but it might be so long to the league completely.
That’s because Kobe Bryant is reportedly thinking about finishing his career overseas. And who made such a suggestion?
None other than Kobe Bryant himself, who while in China for a promotional tour, suggested that he’d be open to ending his basketball career in either Italy or China.
Q: After growing up in Italy and spending time in China, could you see yourself ending your career playing at either place?
Kobe: “I can see myself doing that. I can see myself doing a lot of stuff. That’s a whole other question. I will make some decisions when I decide to hang it up.”
Kobe, who spent some of his youth growing up in Italy, is well versed outside of the United States so this news doesn’t exactly come as a shock. Still, it’s hard to think of Kobe Bryant playing in any other uniform than a Los Angeles Lakers jersey.
Still, something worth keeping an eye on.
