Every year when the NBA Finals come around, thanks to their broadcast on ABC, Jimmy Kimmel has basketball themed shows that usually poke fun at people who are hanging out in left field.
Today is no different as the late night talk show host went to downtown LA and asked fans what they thought about the Los Angeles Clippers playing in the NBA Finals.
You know, the same Clippers who were eliminated by the Houston Rockets before reaching the Western Conference Finals.
I’m not even sure what to say here, but somewhere Chris Paul and Blake Griffin have to be hanging their heads in shame, right? I mean, there are plenty of real, hardcore Los Angeles Clippers fans but this is pretty bad.
Granted, Southern California is notorious for their fair weather fan base and a lot of people who don’t follow the teams outside of the postseason aren’t exactly the most knowledgeable. And yes, Kimmel was totally picking on the clueless ‘fans’ and obviously left out the vast majority who knew what was going on for TV purposes.
But still, that’s pretty hard to defend.
Somewhere Clipper Darrell is thinking about creating a rally to smack the stupid off some LA basketball ‘fans’.
