Kyle Lowry Says He’s Trying To Copy Stephen Curry

Kyle Lowry

Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry is known for his tenacious defense, but offensively the former Villanova product has some warts. That’s not to say he’s not talented, but when it comes to shooting, he’s only surpassed 43.2 percent in his career once.

Needless to say, if there’s a weak spot in Lowry’s game, it’s his ability to shoot the rock. That’s why the point guard says he’s been attempting to copy Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors as he told NBA.com’s David Aldridge.

You can always re-develop your jump shot. You can always fix your jump shot to make it even better. And part of me, I wanted to make my free throws better. I’m kind of sucking on that one. But I take bits and pieces from everybody. Last summer, I watched Steph Curry, the way he shoots the ball. I want to be able to go out there and get — I won’t be as great a shooter as he is — but why not get up there? Why not be that type of level type shooter, where you can’t leave me at all?

Lowry went on to suggest that he attempts to “steal” from everybody and isn’t ashamed of the fact, nor should he be as professional athletes do so all the time.

The point guard also talked about his free agent process and how comfortable he felt with the Toronto Raptors and appeared to express some disappointment with the Miami Heat, who didn’t court the bulldog as much as he was hoping.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
