Kobe Bryant On Recruiting Rajon Rondo To Lakers: I’m Not Stopping

Kobe Bryant

Although Kobe Bryant has admitted that retirement has crossed his mind once the current Los Angeles Lakers season comes to an end, it’s pretty likely he’ll be back in uniform next season. His hope is that he’ll be doing so alongside better talent, perhaps like Rajon Rondo of the Dallas Mavericks whom Bryant has previously recruited.

He’s also not about to stop despite Rondo recently being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Mavs as Kobe Bryant told the Boston Herald.

While Mavericks owner Mark Cuban expressed confidence his club can and will sign Rondo to a new deal, Bryant told the Herald he’s not about to cease working on getting him to LA.

“No way,” Bryant said. “I’m not done. I’m not stopping until he signs an extension.”

Oh, hello potential tampering charge.

In all seriousness though, Kobe Bryant has long been a fan of Rajon Rondo’s game and seems to believe he would be a great addition to the Los Angeles Lakers. He might be right, though Rondo himself will not be enough to push the Lakers over the top so they’ll need to bring in additional talent.

There have already been rumors suggesting the Lakers are interested in Greg Monroe and Jimmy Butler, so it sounds as if they’ll do their best to have an active offseason.
