Kobe Bryant: Los Angeles Lakers Or Bust

Kobe Bryant

With Kobe Bryant‘s contract comes to an end after the 2015-16 season, questions loom regarding the future of the Los Angeles Lakers star. Will he opt to retire? Will he continue his playing career? If so, will it be with the Lakers who have already stated they’re no longer going to build around the one-time franchise building block?

Well, according to Kobe Bryant himself, if he’s not in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform, he won’t be playing.

So for those who hoped to bring an aging Kobe Bryant aboard on their favorite team, you’re apparently barking up the wrong tree.

No,” Bryant said at the premiere of his documentary. “If I’m not playing in a Laker uniform, I’m not playing.”

Of course the Lakers have to want Kobe Bryant back, though it’s hard to imagine them walking away from one of the greatest players in NBA history as they attempt to re-tool, even if he’s no longer the player he once was.

Sadly doing so might be the best decision for the on-court product, but it’s simply not a good look for the franchise.

All that said, it appears it’s Los Angeles Lakers or bust for Kobe Bryant when his contract comes to an end next season.
