Kobe Bryant Blames Himself For Vanessa Bryant’s Miscarriage

Kobe Bryant

While Kobe Bryant sometimes comes across as a machine on the basketball court, at times it’s difficult to remember that the Los Angeles Lakers star is a human just like you and I.

Athletes and celebrities are often put on pedestals and Bryant is no different, especially because of his immense fame and talent. But they deal with real world problems too, much like Bryant’s famed rape allegations in 2004 stemming from a stay at a Colorado hotel.

The allegations created quite a bit of stress, not only for Kobe Bryant, but his wife Vanessa Bryant as well who was pregnant at the time.

She ended up losing the baby in a miscarriage, something that Kobe Bryant blames himself for as he stated during the Showtime documentary ‘Muse’.

Per TMZ:

“We were expecting … and um … expecting our second child during that time … and there was just so much stress, she actually, she actually miscarried.”

“It’s something … I have a real hard time dealing with that ’cause I felt like it was just my fault.”

Kobe added, “The reality is it happened because of me … that’s something I have to deal with. Something I gotta carry forever.”

Watching Kobe Bryant talk about the situation was pretty painful and it’s clear there are still some demons (understandably) haunting Bryant over the incident.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
