Knicks Rumors: Reggie Jackson, Greg Monroe ‘Targets’

New York Knicks

Knicks rumors: Jimmy Butler, Reggie Jackson and Greg Monroe will be targeted by New York during free agency.

The New York Knicks will have plenty of cap space once their dreadful season comes to an end, though there has been suggestions stating Phil Jackson and company prefer to sign multiple “B-level” free agents instead of pairing Carmelo Anthony with another superstar.

That’s why these recent Knicks rumors suggesting New York will attempt to sign a collection of players like Reggie Jackson, Jimmy Butler, Greg Monroe and Wesley Matthews seem to make sense.

Of course, none of those players will come cheaply though that apparently won’t stop the Knicks from showing interest come free agency.

The Knicks will target several free agents this summer including Greg Monroe, whom I previously mentioned at the end of December, Reggie Jackson, Jimmy Butler and Wesley Matthews (should Butler sign elsewhere) according to league sources.

With Andrea Bargnani and Amar’e Stoudemire both coming off the books, the New York Knicks will likely have enough funds to sign two of those players will still having a few dollars remaining to round out their roster. Of course, getting two of those players to sign might prove to be a difficult aspect considering guys like Jimmy Butler are restricted free agents and can have their contract offer matched by their current team.
