Knicks Make Suns Offer For Goran Dragic Trade

Goran Dragic

A Goran Dragic trade has been discussed between the New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns.

The New York Knicks know Goran Dragic wants to play in the Big Apple and while they’ll have enough money to potentially sign him as a free agent this offseason, why not take a shot before the NBA trade deadline passes?

That’s apparently the thought process of the Knicks and Phil Jackson who made a Goran Dragic trade offer to the Phoenix Suns recently. Unfortunately for the Knickerbockers, it’s not going to be near enough for the point guard as the Phoenix Suns have a very high price tag.

So who did the Knicks offer up? According to ESPN, Jose Calderon and Tim Hardaway Jr. were the main assets in a package that would have been sent to the Valley of the Sun.

While Tim Hardaway Jr. might have been of interest to the Phoenix Suns, it’s likely they want nothing to do with Jose Calderon who is a significant drop off from Goran Dragic and comes with a somewhat nasty contract.

If Goran Dragic is going to play for the New York Knicks, it’s going to be because he signs in free agency. Simply put, the Knicks just don’t have the assets needed for a Goran Dragic trade.
