Klay Thompson Calls Cavs Lucky, Says Warriors Will Win NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors looked unbeatable coming into the NBA Finals and after Game 1. Now they trail in the series 2-1 after dropping two straight and MVP Stephen Curry looks like a shell of what we’ve come to know.

But his Splash Brother isn’t worried because Warriors teammate Klay Thompson says Golden State is still going to win the NBA Finals.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Klay Thompson made the rather bold prediction:

“If we get our offense back, which we will, we’re gonna win this series,” Thompson told reporters after Tuesday’s 96-91 loss in Game 3, via ESPN’s Baxter Holmes.

He also stated the and-1 shot from Matthew Dellavedova late in the fourth quarter was lucky.

“I mean, that shot [Matthew Dellavedova] hit when we were down one when Steph fouled him, that was just lucky, man,” Klay Thompson said. “I guarantee he doesn’t practice that shot so, big player though, and we’re not going to let this game deflate us.”

Stephen Curry seemed to agree with the sentiment, suggesting that he found out the reason he’s been struggling and now plans to fix the issues.

“I think I found something when it comes to how I’m going to be able to attack their pick-and-rolls and even certain ISO situations,” Curry said. “I’ll keep that in the memory bank going into Game 4, and hopefully it has a trickle-over effect.”

Kobe Bryant already called out the Warriors on Tuesday night, suggesting they’re not playing with a sense of urgency, so it should be interesting to see what type of basketball they play in Game 4.

Either way, it’s the Cavs who are sitting pretty – for now.
