Kings Coach On DeMarcus Cousins: Nobody Is Untradeable

DeMarcus Cousins

Before George Karl was hired as coach of the Sacramento Kings, there was an alleged issue between DeMarcus Cousins and his ‘handlers’ regarding the potential addition of the eventual Hall of Fame coach.

Cousins would go on to say he had no issue with Karl himself, but just wanted some clarity on what direction the franchise was going after yet another change.

Perhaps there was a reason for the lack of excitement on the part of Cousins part though as George Karl recently came out and suggested that no player on the Sacramento Kings roster is untradeable, which seemingly includes DeMarcus Cousins.

“I’ve had some great players and I’ve never had one player that I have said is untradeable,” Karl said. “You always got to be ready for the possibility of a great trade that could come your way.”

Karl’s not stupid and has been around the block on more than one occasion, so he was clearly attempting to send some type of message there.

For what it’s worth, the Kings head coach says he has not spoken to DeMarcus Cousins since he was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Trouble in paradise? It’s hard to imagine any team trading a player who is just 24-years-old and averaged 24 and 12 on the season, but stranger things have happened.
