You’d think playing alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving on a nightly basis would be basketball heaven, especially after struggling with the Minnesota Timberwolves for so long. But perhaps not all is as it seems for Kevin Love who appears somewhat indifferent regarding his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
A potential free agent at season end, it sounds as if Kevin Love’s future with the Cavs is uncertain and he doesn’t know if he will return once the season concludes.
Perhaps the decision might be made for Love in the next few months depending on how deep Cleveland goes in the NBA playoffs.
Per Basketball Insiders:
I don’t think he is nearly as decided either way as people want to paint it. I do know he wants to play better for a lot of reasons. I do not think he has his bags packed, but I also don’t think he’s house shopping in Cleveland either.
I think like a lot of things in Cleveland how the season plays out will answer a lot of questions. The Cavs will pay him and he knows it, so there is no reason to stir things up until you truly understand what it is.
Kevin Love has toyed with the idea of playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and the UCLA native will certainly be coveted if he does become a free agent. Still, it’s hard to leave one of the best teams in the NBA, anchored by two NBA superstars who will put you in title contention every year.
