When it comes to the Cleveland Cavaliers, even the smallest blip on the Richter scale registers as if was a 7.0 earthquake so when LeBron James posted a photo of his ‘clique’ on Instagram and Kevin Love was noticeably absent, people took notice.
It wasn’t just one of two guys posing with James in the picture, but nearly half the team. So why was Love MIA? Nobody really seems to know, including Kevin Love himself who spoke with Mike & Mike on ESPN Radio this morning.
The picture was the hot topic of discussion and Kevin Love didn’t seem overly eager to talk about the situation, though did say he and LeBron James aren’t best friends. That wasn’t meant as a slight though as he says the two are working on their relationship.
“My … it’s fine,” Love said. “It’s … it’s … You know, we’re not best friends. We’re not hanging out every day, but we see each other every day whether at the practice facility, whether on the road or going to a game. I think our relationship is also evolving. I could say the same with each and every coach, coach [David] Blatt, and each and every player on the team. That’s part of the NBA.”
Love stumbled and hesitated his way through the interview, so it seemed as if there was a little more to the somewhat icey relationship between the two.
Whatever the case, as long as the Cavs keep winning, nobody is really going to care. But if the Cavaliers struggle, that’s when these ugly stories become more than just text and speculation.
