If you were asked to describe Kevin Garnett in one word, most would define the Minnesota Timberwolves power forward and NBA star as intense. It would be a rather accurate description considering KG has not only made a name for himself thanks to his statistics but due to his on-court intensity.
That fire apparently stretches to the locker room too as one veteran recently told a rookie after the Timberwolves re-acquired Kevin Garnett in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets.
His words of warning? Stay off your phone or it might end up in the toilet, this according to head coach Flip Saunders.
“As one of our veteran guys told our young guys yesterday, ‘Hey, listen, when KG walks in the locker room your phones better be tucked away, because if they’re not, they’re going to get thrown in the toilet on game night,’ ” Saunders noted.
I’m not sure what type of reaction I’d have if somebody decided to throw my phone in the toilet, though I imagine it wouldn’t be cupcakes and rainbows.
Also, I’m extremely curious to know where Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders got the story from (did he witness such during KG’s previous Wolves stint?) and what NBA player had his phone dumped in the toilet?
