If you were watching the NBA Finals last night, you probably came across the rather odd Kevin Durant ‘Sonic’ commercial.
This was weird for two reasons.
First off, Kevin Durant of course once played for the Seattle Supersonics before they eventually relocated and more or less became the Oklahoma City Thunder, despite their stats/history remaining in the Pacific Northwest.
There’s a lot of salty feelings about the move so you’d question why Durant decided to star in a ‘Sonic’ commercial.
But that might not have been the weirdest part because a lot of people were wondering if the OKC star was high during the filming on the commercial.
As we know, weed has been linked to the former NBA MVP on more than one occasion and dude has some extremely low eyes during the Sonic commercial. Maybe he was just tired or perhaps he ate too many burgers and/or some of Sonics infamous drinks. Either way, the whole thing was just really strange.
Of course, it got people talking, which is likely more than most Sonic commercials do, so I guess the end result was what the company was after. As for Kevin Durant, well, if the basketball fans in Seattle weren’t already irritated….
